1. Rectangle Pairs SS Group

Description file, Raw data, Excel file, SPSS data file.

Title: Rectangle Pairs SS Group

Source: Borg and Leutner (1983)

Description: Average dissimilarity ratings of 21 persons who each
evaluated 16 rectangles with varying size and shape. Each subject
rated all possible 120 stimulus pairs twice on a scale with end
categories 0=equal, identical, and 9=extremely different.

The stimuli were designed as follows

Stimulus Width Height
1 3.0000 3.0000
2 3.5303 3.5303
3 4.0607 4.0607
4 4.5910 4.5910
5 3.8839 2.1161
6 4.4142 2.6464
7 4.9445 3.1768
8 5.4749 3.7071
9 4.7678 1.2322

Title: Rectangle Pairs WH Group

Description: Average dissimilarity ratings of 21 persons who each
evaluated 16 rectangles with varying width and height. Each subject
rated all possible 120 stimulus pairs twice on a scale with end
categories 0=equal, identical, and 9=extremely different.

The stimuli were designed as follows:

1 3.00 0.50
2 3.00 1.25
3 3.00 2.00
4 3.00 2.75
5 4.25 0.50

14 6.75 1.25
15 6.75 2.00
16 6.75 2.75

3. Rectangles

Description file, Raw data, Excel file, SPSS data file.

Title: Rectangles

Source: Schönemann et al. (1985)

Description: Relative dissimilarity ratings (averaged over 20
subjects) for nine different rectangles.

The physical width-height characteristics (in cm) of the rectangles
are:

No. Width Height
1 2.7 3.1
2 5.4 3.1
3 8.1 3.1
4 2.7 5.4
5 5.4 5.4
6 8.1 5.4
7 2.7 8.1
8 5.4 8.1
9 8.1 8.1
